Jack Harlow Joins Ownership Group For Two Of Louisville’s Premier Soccer Clubs Jack Harlow made a surprise appearance at Lynn Family Stadium on Sunday, August 18, to be announced as one of the newest owners of both Louisville City FC and Racing Louisville, which are the city’s men’s and women’s professional soccer teams in the United Soccer League (USL)
Harlow has always been a fan of soccer growing up, and his involvement with Soccer Holdings, the ownership group behind both teams, solidifies his spot among some of the most intense fans in the city.

2. Pig Beach BBQ At Louisville Waterfront Closes
An abrupt end for one of the more established BBQ spots around Louisville, Pig Beach is one of many franchises across the country including a few in New York and one in Florida. However, the Louisville location told Waterfront Park that it would be shutting its doors indefinitely.
The spot was empty for years, with the last tenants exiting back in 2016. Now, the prime location is back open for somewhere new to enter.

3. Nouvelle Bar & Bottle Snags An Award
Nouvelle Bar & Bottle was awarded a star for its wine program by the Star Wine List organization. According to Nouvelle, this prestigious star shines “a light on the world class offerings, including an unparalleled Champagne List.”
The Star Wine List is a “major resource” for wine pros and enthusiasts around the world. Now, Nouvelle is one of many wine spots with a “world-class” wine list.

4. More Than A Dozen Homeless Impacted By Safer Kentucky ActOne month after the Safer Kentucky Act was passed by Kentucky’s legislature, more than a dozen homeless people have been arrested.
In Louisville, more than 14 people, four of whom were arrested and 10 cited, were found for “unlawful street camping” since July 15. Anyone caught sleeping on a public or private street could be breaking the law because of the Safer Kentucky Act.

5. Say Hello To The Louisville Zoo's Adorable Baby GorillaAbeo is now in Louisville, a one-and-a-half-year-old baby Gorilla who is now being taken care of by his foster mom, a 40-year-old gorilla named Kweli, who has experience with fostering baby gorillas.
Abeo will live with his new family, including three other females and one male silverback gorilla.

6. Deputy Chief of Staff Fired For ‘Pattern Of Misconduct’Former Deputy Chief of Staff Keisha Dorsey was fired by Mayor Craig Greenberg’s administration for a “pattern of misconduct.” However, she says she was wrongly fired while she was on medical leave.
According to Greenberg’s office, she was fired primarily for attendance issues, but Dorsey says the Mayor’s office discriminated against her, and cited a hostile work environment that affects women and minorities more than others.

7. Hadley Duvall Appears At Democratic National ConventionHadley Duvall, who appeared in Governor Andy Beshear’s campaign in 2022, spoke at the Democratic National Convention, sharing her story about how she was raped by her stepfather when she was 12 before experiencing a miscarriage.
When Gov. Beshear appeared after her to speak at the DNC, he said Duvall was “one of the bravest people I’ve ever met.”

Hadley Duvall, who appeared in Governor Andy Beshear’s campaign in 2022, spoke at the Democratic National Convention, sharing her story about how she was raped by her stepfather when she was 12 before experiencing a miscarriage. 8. The 24-Story LG&E Center To Host A New TenantThe LG&E Center is set to lose its tenant, LG&E, next year. However, a new tenant is on the way.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced plans to move its headquarters to the space. About 750 federal employees will move into the building to work across the street from the KFC Yum! Center.
